Arthur and K'Nex

A bridge made from K'NEX.Image via Wikipedia

We had a whale of a time playing Arthur's K'Nex over the weekend. He's a bit young for it, but he's happy to join up things together and build random thing. I've taken the role of building things for him based on what he picks from the book and that's proving to be lots of fun too.

He seems to have a building streak going, so in the future he'll be fixing cars maybe and playing with Polaris RZR accessories. But in the meantime it's going to be just blocks and pieces. Anyway, if anyone has any spare K'Nex blocks they're not using ... you know where to drop them ;)

What do you like playing with?

Oh, and by the way, we're having twins!

I'm not sure if you picked up the news on my main blog, but we're having twins! We're still a bit of a way off, still in the first trimester, but it's great news anyway, and I wanted to make sure readers of this blog knew about it too. Both of us are pretty excited and Arthur's happy he's going to be a big brother and have more kids to play with.

In the meantime, there's time for planning, cleaning out and getting ready for the new arrivals. Guess I won't be getting my new Adams golf drivers anytime soon huh? Still, it's a cause for much joy and we're over the moon!

Twins on the way

I don't know if you've heard from my other blogs, but we have just found out we're having twins! How cool is that? The babies are still too young to find out if they're boys or girls, but we know that the things we have put aside from when Arthur was a baby will only serve one of them. If they'll girls, we'll have to buy lots of things, but if boys then we're half way there. Still, pretty exciting to think about the toys we'll be buying, the school uniforms and even the NCAA jerseys when they get a bit older.

Exciting times huh?

What's Arthur getting for Christmas?

Well, Christmas is just round the corner (well, close enough), so I’ve been keeping my eyes open for different ideas as to what we can get him. One idea I came across whas that of personalized books just like the ones down at Frecklebox. You get get ones with all sort of different things in it, like stories and pictures and even personalised placemats (like the picture I’ve included here).

Even though Arthur is still two, he can recognise and even spell out his name, even if he can’t write it out yet. I would prefer to get him something like this than plain baby clothes, as he can build more of an emotional attachment to it and it’s something he can take forward with him; rather than grow out of.
